This is brilliant. Today, I'm inspired by the world's color.  (And want to see all of it first hand.)

inspired: cereal bar birthday party

Every detail of this birthday party (guests in PJs, build-your-own cereal favors, magic milk straws) is clever and awesome.  And especially fun to see that her little 5 year old boy celebrated the exact same day as my little 5 year old boy.  It's all happy.

This is amazing.  Would you have the patience?

inspired: this nursery.

seen: here

I think this may be my favorite nursery- as a whole- I've come across yet.  The orange, gray, mustard/ the ceiling/ the Sparrow crib/ the framed Sharon Montrose prints/ the chalkboard wall/ the barn door/ the peeks of yellow lacquer/ the abacus..

What do you think?

new green toys & tableware organization.

divided plates, snack bowls,
bowls, divided tray

If there is one thing I just haven't figured out in the last 5 years of parenthood, it's consistent child-friendly (and child-proof) tableware.  We've recycled many (nice, boutique and Target, cheap) cracked plastic divided plates and bowls and now the mis-match of it all drives me crazy.  Wouldn't it be great to have a cabinet full of these- all made from safe, friendly, dishwasher-safe, recycled plastic milk containers.  My experience with this brand tells me yes, it would!

And once I find the right set, I would love for them to all be stacked neatly like this.  Man, I'm in love with this image-- the painted silhouette of each dish.  I feel a high priority to-do.

Inspired to decorate for Valentine's Day, have a festive dinner party and be more of a romantic.

inspired: this boys bedding + styling

I think Dwell's new skyline prints are the best I've seen from them yet. Here's cheers to clean, simple boys decor that can be playful with the right amount of good color for both baby and big boy alike.  (And thank you for such great styling.  I'm always dog-earing.)

p.s. Longtime favorite Boodalee is sadly having a big farewell sale- up to 50% off.  If you're on the search, think quickly.  I don't think these graphic bedding sets will ever be trumped.  Sigh.

inspired: sweet holiday magazine

Just ended my day with Sweet Paul's Holiday Magazine.  Have you flipped through it yet?
I was going to share a favorite page, but instead it became a list: the cranberry almond streusel cake, the cupcake flowers gift wrap, the decor kit (available here), this entire party theme (!), the tree of memories, this centerpiece and this teaser.  Maybe you should just have a look yourself..

inspired: the super easy baby blanket

This is how I want Fall to show itself in my home.  Bold, stripy knit blankets thrown across arms and ottomans that would never need to be folded.

School's in session, it's cooling down and creativity is brewing.  I'm inspired by September.  (Even if we're taking some sick days already.)

The photography is amazing & the sisterhood very sweet... but that quilt is especially brilliant.

[And another bright quilt to love: material obsession.]

monday report:

It's a sleepy Monday morning at our house.  We did a to-and-back trip to Sacramento yesterday ( 2.5 hours each way) to see our new little niece/cousin, Joy.  We had a great visit but are feeling painfully tired from pulling up to our house at midnight.  Nothing some cheerful link inspiration cannot fix.

☛ Last day to put your name in for the K. Grace giveaway.  (I wore my Lake Dress over the weekend and felt fancy.)  And don't miss the 20% off discount code.  Hooray for green fashion.

☛Another Purl Bee project: the cheerful quilted playmat is so pretty.  But I especially love the room: grey wood floors, those grey dots and quilts stacked on top of an especially tall armoire.

☛ This is a sweet nursery.  (Sweet Baby James-- love that song.)  The x's quilt, Binth poster and Chad Wys art are my favorite parts.

☛ More balloon invite love (seen on Hip Hip Hooray blog).

☛ Stephanie's tart cherry crumb cake sounds so amazing right now.  I tried this recipe over the weekend and think this may happen tonight.  Doesn't it look like a big bite of summer?

☛ While we're on food, I still need to make my way to Paulette Macarons in San Francisco.

☛ I really loved reading these tips over the weekend!  Do you have the book?  [Seen here.]

p.s.  I've been listening to The Cranberries greatest hits all weekend.  Do you remember how amazing they are?  And I finished the Hunger Games.  Loved that book and now need to find another equally exciting.  Any favorites?

Hope your weekend was restful.

inspired: pancake breakfast

I think breakfast food is the perfect kind of celebration.  So much so that we have a breakfast dinner weekly-- so I can try my hand at new muffins, coffee cakes, waffles and pancakes.  I think it's what I do best.  The details of this pancake breakfast (see more here) are charming.
