inspired: this nursery.

seen: here

I think this may be my favorite nursery- as a whole- I've come across yet.  The orange, gray, mustard/ the ceiling/ the Sparrow crib/ the framed Sharon Montrose prints/ the chalkboard wall/ the barn door/ the peeks of yellow lacquer/ the abacus..

What do you think?

inspired: this boys bedding + styling

I think Dwell's new skyline prints are the best I've seen from them yet. Here's cheers to clean, simple boys decor that can be playful with the right amount of good color for both baby and big boy alike.  (And thank you for such great styling.  I'm always dog-earing.)

p.s. Longtime favorite Boodalee is sadly having a big farewell sale- up to 50% off.  If you're on the search, think quickly.  I don't think these graphic bedding sets will ever be trumped.  Sigh.

toddler beds

Our transition from crib to toddler bed [we have this one and it's beautiful!] when Cole was nearly two went so smoothly and now toddler beds are my preference.  I cannot believe we'll be there with Finn fairly soon...

Pros:
1. you can continue to use the crib-sized mattress
2. little worry about rolling out of bed (it's low to the ground)
3. it's a space saver

I've loved the p'kolino clothes tree and art easel for years but missed the value of this p'kolino eco-friendly toddler bed ($229 full price) that also converts into a chair.

Do you do toddler beds too or straight from crib to twin/full?

ferm living

seen: baby and junior bedding sets, $80.25

This is great news: Ferm Living is now accessible stateside at my favorite boutique Fawn & Forest (p.s.: no tax and free shipping).

a banner a week: ink + wit

ink + wit: I became a fan when they were just posters and greeting cards.  Now, German felt, Italian ribbon and US craftsmanship makes this friendly parade.

seed organic cradle

infancy: I'm not on the search but I'll always love a pretty bassinet.  Especially with features like an organic cotton cradle and organic natural latex "breather hole" mattress, all for a portion of the price of our other favorite brand.

[Oh, and of course Amazon pulls through with a low price + free shipping.  $209.  Ta-da!]

How does your newborn sleep?

elephant parade boudoir pillow

q collection junior: I'm really in love this graphic + muted look that q collection junior has created and feel obliged to share that my favorite of their prints on a pillow is now on sale!  19x15 and includes a hypoallergenic down/feather insert.  (That red stool!  Although that would be an awful idea in Finn's room (he's a climber), the look is dreamy.)

shanna murray

shanna murray's shop: It's been making it's rounds this morning because it's lovely.  This is exactly the kind of wall decals I would want in my space and now I have a great ideas for these (now, just storing in our closet).

rikshaw design

photo seen on Rikshaw Design blog

rikshaw design: I'm moving. Did you know when I move, I promise myself new pillows?  It's true.  Generally for the couch, but I may need to push that tradition into the boys' rooms.  Because Indian blockprinting and elephants together is terrific.  And so are piles of pillows in a makeshift club house.  Simply, I'm swooning over Rikshaw.

olivelse, le shop

olivelse: I saw one of these ukuleles a couple of years ago and it made me feel soft.  I really love them.  Ever since, I've been following this blog and had to mention her new line.  Gorgeous, right!  And fun and youthful and inspiring.

super natural baby

super natural baby: Finn sleeps with this bedding and it falls nothing short of colorful and cheerful, made locally (San Francisco) and hand printed with water based inks.  After a year, it still hasn't faded from our favorites.

(Note: we did replace the crib sheet with some yellow organic jersey.  I just preferred softer.)

handmade charlotte:  pattern me a room after this picture!  Even just a peek of this wall paper (toy armoire?) would be perfect and playful for a little girl or boy.

made by mosey

seen: cloud mobile (sky blue)

Made by Mosey:  there is something dreamy (sleepy?) about suspended patchwork clouds.  Maybe I should put a rush order on them and hang them above Finn's head.  This shop, although departing from my usual bright and modern tendencies, offers serenity.

Lovebirds mobile in green wins a close second.
