20 favorite toys in 2010:

We love good toys but really only collect them at Christmas and birthdays.  And all fit in one toy armoire and one half closet, so we've gotten good at only buying toys that will really be loved and then storing or donating the forgotten ones.  Here's my roundup of our favorites this year (with a clear boy influence).  What would you add?

I really, really love this post. Such great toys! I want to know more about Chicky Boom (?) it sounds like one my girls might love.

My girls love, love their Melissa and Doug magnetic dress up dolls.

And for an "educational" game - Avery and I have had a lot of fun with King of Numbers by Haba

Missy, we have a couple of the Blue Orange games and love them all. Chickyboom: you start by balancing all of the pieces (chickens, wagon wheels and hay bales) on the teeter totter and then take turns taking one piece off at a time. The game ends when the balance is off and the teeter totter rocks/crashes. We all really have fun with it.

imaginarium wooden train sets. easily the most loved toy in our house, for both my boys. Plus balls in different textures and sizes, from soft plush to knobby sensory. And a soft skittles/bowling set. Ours was a gift, so I don't have a source, but there are several hip versions out there.
