for the love of farmers

seen: wooden barn tee...

Brad and I watched Food, Inc. last night and thought it was fantastic.  A movie that makes you smarter (without completely pushing an agenda).  Now, we have some good new goals for 2010:

*buy in-season
*shop local (re visit farmer's markets; join a csa.)
*know where our meat/fish/chicken is coming from (be picky.  be willing to pay more.)

We'll continue to eat organic, rarely eat meat* and do our best to avoid processed foods.  I love this jumpstart to a healthy/motivated 2010.

(*We've done the vegetarian/ pescatarian diet for several years in the past and feel most comfortable with very little meat.)

Have you watched it?  What do you think?

I've watched that show with my husband, and was really inspired too! I wish that I could do it too. I know that my family and I would be much healthier.

Have you read "Animal Vegetable Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver? Equally inspiring. It changed the way we shop, eat, think, and live.

Thank Anne. It's on my "to read" list now.
